His three basic principles are:
- Keep your weight on the balls of your feet - don't strike the ground heels first;
- Make sure your knees are always bent - don't straighten your legs as you run;
- Keep your shoulders, hips and the ankle of your supporting leg in one, vertical line - don't stride out too far.
