CERTIFICATION vs CERTIFICATE

Certification is the result of getting certified by means of an official assessment, usually an examination or a test, based on specific industry standards.

Earning a certificate is a way for you to earn education credits, and/or contact hours that count towards such credits, in a structured and a discipline-specific way.

A certificate can prepare you to advance in your career, or to gain the extra knowledge needed to stay competitive and up-to-date in your field. As such, a completion of the certificate course demonstrates evidence of specialized education achievement.

A certificate program or course does not lead to a professional certification, in other words, earning a certificate is not the same as becoming certified. However, a certificate program or course could help you prepare to earn a professional field-specific certification.
