License Renewal Requirements for Physical Therapists + Physical Therapy Assistants
The following course(s) are inline with the Rules Of Georgia State Board Of Physical Therapy standards and meet the continuing education requirements for PTs and PTAs for continuing education activities in accordance with the Georgia Administrative Code Rule 490-4-.02 3(b).
Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy adopted the utilization of CE Broker – continuing education system to find, track, and report continuing education to the board. Take our course(s) and we will automatically report your continuing competence hours once you receive your Certificate of Completion.
The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy requires each licensed physical therapist and physical therapist assistant to participate in thirty (30) clock hours of experience per licensure period which is not to exceed ten (10) credit hours per calendar day. 1 Contact hour = 1 Competency Hour or 1 CCH.
Every physical therapist shall complete 30 hours of CE relevant to the practice of physical therapy during each pre-renewal period as a condition of renewal.
Every physical therapist assistant shall complete 20 hours of CE relevant to the practice of physical therapy during each pre-renewal period as a condition of renewal.
Every licensed physical therapist and physical therapist assistant shall biennially apply to the Board for renewal of his/her license, submit proof of continuing competency requirements and pay a renewal fee by December 31st of odd years.
