License Renewal Requirements for Physical Therapists + Physical Therapy Assistants
The following course(s) are inline with the rules of the Arkansas State Board Of Physical Therapy and meet the continuing education requirements for PTs and PTAs.
Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy accepts the utilization of CE Broker – continuing education system to find, track, and report continuing education to the board. Take our course(s) or seminars and we will automatically report your continuing education hours once you receive your Certificate of Completion.
According to the Arkansas Physical Therapy Practice Act, the following requirements must be completed in each biennium (two-year period):
Physical Therapists: 2 CEUs
The licensed Physical Therapist must complete, by December 31, in each biennium, two (2) CEUs.
The licensed Physical Therapist Assistant must complete, by December 31, in each biennium, one (1) CEU.
One CEU is defined as 10 contact hours of an accredited course or program. A contact hour is equal to 60 minutes of in-person attendance at a seminar or workshop.
According to the Arkansas Physical Therapy Practice Act, physical therapists must complete, in each biennium (two-year period), two (2) CEUs (20 hours) and physical therapist assistants are required to complete, in each biennium, one (1) CEU (10 hours). This must be obtained within the 24-months preceding the odd-numbered year renewal.
CEUs are required to be submitted prior to odd numbered year renewals. Beginning January 1, 2023, for each odd numbered year renewal, licensees are required to maintain continuing education and shall only submit such proof if so requested by the Board pursuant to the audit process.
No more than 50% of continuing education can be taken through online courses.
